THEORETICAL CONTENT OF THE COURSE
Introduction to perioimplantology will include topics:
- Anatomical and histological differences between the periodontium around the implant and the patient's own tooth.
- The importance of systemic and local factors in the aetiopathogenesis and course of peri-implantitis.
- New classification of periodontitis.
- Overview of diagnostic and treatment algorithms based on the new classification of periodontitis.
- ImplantDiseases Risk Assessment (IDRA) based peri-implantitis risk assessment.
- Preparing a patient with periodontitis for implant surgery.
- Diagnostic methods and assessment of the severity of inflammation around implants.
- Algorithms for the management of peri-implantitis.
- Methods for decontaminating the implant surface.
- General antibiotic therapy, topical pharmacotherapy and photodynamic therapy in the treatment of peri-implantitis and periodontitis.
- Application of regeneration and resection techniques in peri-implantitis.
- Types of bone substitute materials and comparison of regeneration efficacy depending on the type of bone defect.
- Use of PRF membranes in regenerative treatments
- Autogenous bone harvesting methods.
- Algorithm for follow-up visits according to existing risk factors.
- Soft tissue management before and after implantation.
- Assessment of the gingival biotype using minimally invasive methods.
- Influence of the absence of keratinised gingiva in the aetiopathogenesis of peri-implantitis.
- Techniques for taking free gingival grafts.
- Methods of soft tissue augmentation in the implant area to improve aesthetics and thicken the gingival biotype.
- New classification of gingival recessions, methods of treating them in natural teeth and implants.
PRACTICAL COURSE TOPICS
The aim of the training will be to:
- Learning about surgical techniques: regenerative and resective with implantoplasty in periimplantitis.
- Getting acquainted with the instrumentation and preparations used for mechanical and chemical decontamination.
- Learning about the diode laser photodisinfection procedure.
- Learning the technique of taking free gingival grafts, widening the keratinised gingival zone, thickening the gingival biotype at the implant.
- Learning suture techniques used in periodontal surgery procedures
- Learning the procedure for making PRF membranes, learning how to draw blood.
